Introducing Jan O'Highway
In 1957 by a fluke of fate I landed aged 17, at Guildford School of Art.....figurative drawing, drawing, more drawing, painting, printmaking, calligraphy.....it was Heaven! And proved to be a good solid base for a lifetime of exploring other art-forms - textiles, ceramic, mosaic, sculpture, photography and nowadays fused glass. Colour has always been a major driver, plus the haphazard nature of random opportunities. Fortunate to receive many public and private commissions, I've also enjoyed working on community education projects, often in the environmental field. Living in Devon since 2002 my studio in the country outside Totnes is a large draughty ex- tractor shed....... cold in Winter, hot in Summer but holding an Ocean of Possibilities. I am a member of the Contemporary Glass Society, and Southwest Sculptors.
Triskelion - mobile steel, stainless steel cables, brass, copper all with fused glass create this amazing piece. Please enquire for more information of come into the gallery to see.
